exhibits exploring a wide range of themes relating to the world around
us. The museum offers a teacher's corner, as well, for teachers
seeking new and exciting ways to impart knowledge; also
available are wonderful science camps.

Living Museum - Truly
a "wild spot"! This museum boasts
indoor/outdoor year-round attractions, something for everyone in the
family. It is a combination of a native wildlife park, science
museum, aquarium, botanical preserve, and planetarium, all on the same
grounds - animal life ranges from bobcats to beetles, and everything
in between! The planetarium has daily shows about the universe
and world around us. There is a gift shop on the premises.
Mariner's Museum
- 13 spacious galleries, each with a story of its own, from a
treasure
chest of figureheads, ship models, and navigational instruments to the
world renowned August Crabtree Collection of Miniature ships.
Most recently, the Mariner's Museum became the home of the newly
raised 160-ton Monitor turret, a very exciting development in
marine history. The turret is available for viewing, and
visitors can watch the restoration process taking place. The
museum also offers rotating collections and exhibits, as well as an
extensive library. Come visit part of the past!
Watermen's Museum
- Details the stories of the hard-working men and
women of the
Chesapeake Bay
through a combination
of indoor and outdoor exhibits. Some highlights of the exhibits
include models of workboats, tools of the trade, 100-year old Poquoson
5-log canoes and other boats, as well as paintings/photographs of
"the way things were" on the Bay. Hands-on educational
programs are also available for certain groups. Fine dining for smaller groups available in the
Carriage House, which overlooks the beautiful York River; this
location can also be reserved for weddings, receptions, parties, and
meetings.
